We have an active teaching schedule with clinical, surgical, and laboratory teaching. Surgical procedures of the week are discussed at a weekly orthopedic conference and all fellows are expected to participate. A weekly foot and ankle case conference is run by the fellows, and includes case presentations and didactic lectures. There is a monthly journal club and a quarterly research meeting for the foot and ankle staff. Evening lectures on foot and ankle topics are held for fellows and residents throughout the year. While the fellows are not primarily responsible for resident education, they participate in helping to fulfill our responsibility for resident education. Rotating medical students, undergraduate students and visiting orthopedic surgeons are well observed and participate in the foot and ankle educational process.
