Knee Pain
About Knee Pain
Knee pain is a common problem that can originate in any of the bony structures compromising the knee joint, the kneecap, or the ligaments and cartilage of the knee. Knee pain can affect people of all ages. It may be the result of an injury, such as a ruptured ligament or torn cartilage or a medical condition such as arthritis, gout or an infection. Many types of minor knee pain respond well to nonsurgical treatment. In some cases, however, the knee may require surgical repair.
